Tubuai is often referred to as the breadbasket of The Islands of Tahiti, thanks to its rich soil and favourable climate, which make it a haven for agriculture. Everything seems to flourish on this island blessed by Mother Nature. Even the wind is ideal for kitesurfers on the expansive, shallow lagoon. Located to the south of Tahiti in the Austral Islands, Tubuai’s cooler climate and fertile land are perfect for cultivating lychees. Every December, this deliciously sweet and succulent fruit is harvested and exported to islands throughout French Polynesia.
